Home-Pages
The Home-Pages are designed to give a quick overview to new visitors of this site and to provide some basic informations.

    • What are Bromeliads?: The title says it all, a brief introduction to the plants of the pineapple-family.
    • What is Bromeliads.net? : A little bit about this website, our goals and who we are.
    • Infos for Beginners: Newcomers are kindly asked to check these sites first, before posting their questions at the forum, a lot of them can allready be answerded here.
    • Calender: Events, lectures, exhibitions and fairs on bromeliads and other plant related topics are listed and kept updated here. Unfortunately pure bromeliads events are rare and often merged with orchid, cacti- or repitiles. That is the reason why we are listing such events also. Users can add events to the list, which will be validated and released by the admins afterwards.

Forum
The forum is the main interactive part of Bromeliads.net and the heart of this website, the place to find help and support when it comes to bromeliads. Unfortunately, after months of heavy SPAM-attacks, we where forced to restrict the permission to write posts to registered users. Guests are still able to search and read all public posts on the board. We apologize for this inconvenience.

    • Our Search system will allow everyone to find topics that he is interested in.
    • All registered members are shown in the Memberlist.
    • Usergroups are a function to grant special permissions to several users. A list of all existing groups in this forum can be reached by clicking the Usergroups button in the menu. To find out more about usergroups check this chapter in the user guide.
    • New visitors can sign in to the forum via the Register-Button.
    • Login / Logout should be self-explanatory ;-)

The following functions are available once a user is registered:

    • By clicking the Profile button every user can access his personal custom settings. Password, email-address and other personal informations can be set and changed here.
    • The forum includes an email-like Private messages system. Users can exchange messages directly thru the board. New private messages are shown at the upper menulist on every visit. It is possible to let oneself get notified by email once a new messege has arrived.
    • Every registered user has the opportunity to set and manage his very own Bookmarks of forum topics here.
    • One of our newest features is the Chatroom. Users can share their knowledge instantely. The "Who is online" section, located in the footer part of the forum index page, indicates which and how many users are currently in the chatroom.

Documentation
The Documentation-Section contains, unlike the forum, predominantly static pages.

    • Glossary: When dealing with botany and plants, one cannot get around technical terms. Our glossary is trying to compile the most important latin words and their explanations, which are being used throughout this website.
    • Links: The WWW is a vast changing place. To keep track we are gathering links to interesting bromeliad related websites in this database. Users can send in their links, which will be displayed here, after approval by the admins (to avoid SPAM).
    • Knowledge Base: Here we are going to setup a database with articles on certain issues. The gathered knowledge of the forum will be bundled and posted here. HowTos and workshops on plantcare, propagation, pestcontrol and many more are about to come.
